Extraordinary Bauschinger effect in gradient structured copper

open access: yesScripta Materialia, 2018
Abstract Bauschinger effect is a well-known phenomenon, in which the tensile stress is higher than the reverse compressive stress. Here we report that the gradient structured copper exhibits an extraordinarily large Bauschinger effect. We propose to use the reverse yield softening, Δσb, as a quantitative parameter to represent the Bauschinger effect.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

High-gradient two-beam accelerator structure

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2010
A novel cavity structure is described that could be the basis for a two-beam, high-gradient, accelerator. Versions of the structure could be used for acceleration of beams of electrons, positrons, muons, protons, or heavier ions; with either electron or ...

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

RESEARCH ON MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF GRADIENT LATTICE STRUCTURES BASED ON VORONOI METHOD (MT)

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2023
By designing structures with different gradients, the strength of lattice structure can be improved, and its mechanical properties such as impact resistance, energy absorption and vibration reduction can be improved.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...
