Growing Grade-by-Grade

open access: yesProceedings of the 15th International Conference on Computer Supported Education, 2023
The enrollment of computer science students continues to increase, with record enrollment numbers in the course ”Data Structures and Algorithms” in fall 2022. As a result, teaching methods and systems must evolve to support student progress in the face of scarce teaching resources.

Grading the Graded Care Profile [PDF]

open access: yesChild Abuse Review, 2013
This paper presents some of the key findings of a study investigating the introduction of the Graded Care Profile (GCP) – a tool used in the assessment of child neglect – in one Scottish local authority where neglect is the primary reason for which nearly half of all children are placed on the Child Protection Register.

Honest Grading, Grade Inflation, and Reputation [PDF]

open access: yesCESifo Economic Studies, 2012
When students receive better grades without any corresponding increase in ability, this is called grade inflation. Conventional wisdom says that such grade inflation is unavoidable since it is essentially costless to award good grades. In this article, we point out an effect driving into the opposite direction: Grade inflation is not actually costless,

Optimal Grading [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2012
The teacher–student relationship is modeled as an agency problem, where teachers are concerned with human capital formation and students with ability signaling. We distinguish between two cases depending on whether in ability inference the job market can or cannot observe the grading rule applied. We show that many empirical grading patterns, including

Grade schemes and grade functions [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1985
Let R be a Noetherian ring. An R-sequence \(x_ 1,...,x_ n\) is built by always choosing \(x_ i\) to be not in the union of the primes in Ass R/(x\({}_ 1,...,x_{i-1})R\). In the terminology of this paper, \(A(I)=Ass R/I\) is a grade scheme and its associated grade function is \(f(I)=the\) (classical) grade of I. If instead, we take \(A(I)=\{P| P\quad is\

Graded parafermions [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1998
A graded generalization of the Z_k parafermionic current osp(1|2)/U(1) coset conformal field theory. The structure of the parafermionic highest-weight modules is analyzed and the dimensions of the fields of the theory are determined. A free field realization of the graded parafermionic system is obtained and the structure constants of the current ...

Pazopanib Combined With Vincristine and Irinotecan in Relapsed Wilms Tumor: Encouraging Outcomes in a Heavily Pretreated Pediatric Cohort

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background While Wilms tumor (WT) typically has a favorable prognosis, relapsed cases—especially those with high‐risk histology—remain therapeutically challenging after intensive frontline therapy. The combination of vincristine and irinotecan has demonstrated activity in pediatric solid tumors, and pazopanib, a multi‐targeted tyrosine kinase ...

Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

Psychosocial Outcomes in Patients With Endocrine Tumor Syndromes: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The combination of disease manifestations, the familial burden, and varying penetrance of endocrine tumor syndromes (ETSs) is unique. This review aimed to portray and summarize available data on psychosocial outcomes in patients with ETSs and explore gaps and opportunities for future research and care.
