A nationwide assessment of hepatocellular adenoma resection: Indications and pathological discordance

open access: yesHepatology Communications, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Hepatocellular adenomas (HCAs) are benign liver tumors associated with bleeding or malignant transformation. Data on the indication for surgery are scarce. We analyzed indications and outcome of patients operated for HCAs < 50 mm compared to HCAs ≥ 50 mm. Changes in final postoperative diagnosis were assessed.

B-cell involvement in chronic graft-versus-host disease.

open access: yes, 2008
Chronic graft-versus-host disease is a serious complication in long-term survivors of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, with several organ systems affected.

Resistant Peanut Genotype Reprograms Rhizosphere Metabolism to Enhance Bacterial Wilt Suppression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The resistant peanut genotype selectively recruits beneficial bacteria, which coincides with the activation of salicylic acid (SA)‐dependent systemic acquired resistance (SAR) against Ralstonia solanacearum. Keystone rhizosphere metabolites are positively correlated with both beneficial microbiome assembly and SAR gene expression.

Prognostic Significance of Portal Vein Tumor Thrombus in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Treated With Chemoradiotherapy

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To examine the significance of portal vein tumor thrombus (PVTT) as a prognostic factor for patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) treated with chemoradiotherapy (CRT) followed by surgery. Methods The study retrospectively examined 313 patients with borderline resectable (BR) or locally advanced (LA) PDAC who underwent CRT ...

B/ordering and healthcare access for migrants with precarious status: The role of healthcare workers in counteracting restrictive policies

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract In Canada, precarious migration is largely invisibilized. Nonetheless, b/ordering greatly affects people's realities by limiting access to social rights. In Quebec, migrants with precarious status (MPS) do not have access to healthcare, although Quebec has a “universal” healthcare coverage.

Better 10‐Year Cerebrovascular Outcome After Transplant Than on Standard‐Care in Sickle Cell Anemia: DREPAGREFFE Trial

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Management of cerebral vasculopathy in sickle cell anemia (SCA) includes standard‐care, that is, chronic transfusion (CT) or hydroxyurea, and hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT). DREPAGREFFE‐1 (December 2010/June 2013), a French multicenter trial, was the first prospective trial comparing standard‐care to match sibling donor (MSD)‐HCT in ...

Stereoselective Biotransformation: Transfer of Learning to Advance Drug Metabolism and Biocatalysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Understanding stereoselective biotransformations has implications for predicting drug disposition and response and may also inspire novel biocatalytic and biomimetic strategies to address challenges in metabolite and API synthesis. ABSTRACT Chirality is an important determinant of drug action, as enantiomers can exhibit markedly different ...

Mycophenolate Mofetil-Induced Colitis with Graft Versus Host Disease-Like Features in a Renal Transplant Recipient: Case Report and Literature Review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Diarrhoea is a common complication after renal transplant and has a significant impact on quality of life, graft function, and mortality. The main causes of post-transplant diarrhoea are infectious and pharmacological.

Prediction, diagnosis and treatment of experimental graft-versus-host disease : an investigation of genomic, molecular and cellular factors in graft-versus-host disease and mesenchymal stromal cell therapy in a rat model of allogeneic stem cell transplantation

open access: yes, 2011
Patients who suffer from leukemia or lymphoma can be cured by the transplantation of bone marrow stem cells from a volunteer donor (allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation).
