Manipulation of Macrophage Uptake by Controlling the Aspect Ratio of Graft Copolymer Micelles
Nano LettersNanostructures of drug carriers play a crucial role in nanomedicine due to their ability to influence drug delivery. There is yet no clear consensus regarding the optimal size and shape (e.g., aspect ratio) of nanoparticles for minimizing macrophage uptake, given the difficulties in controlling the shape and size of nanoparticles while maintaining ...

The uptake and transfer of radioactive compounds in axial grafts ofHydra
Development, 1972ABSTRACTHydra littoralis and H. attenuata were labelled with 45Ca, 32PO4, or [3H]thymidine, either by exposing them to a medium containing the isotope or by injecting the isotope into their gut cavities. Various portions of labelled and unlabelled hydra were grafted together in diverse combinations, and the rate of transfer of radioactivity to the ...

Does glubran 2 improve the graft uptake in tympanoplasty? A retrospective study
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, 2014Tympanoplasty is a common procedure in otolaryngology practice and several factors have been described to increase graft uptake. Independent of the technique and graft material, the revascularization process of the graft is related to patient factors as well as contact of the tympanic membrane remnant's edges with the graft material.

Ga-67 Uptake in Cutaneous Lesions of Graft-Versus-Host Disease
Clinical Nuclear Medicine, 2000Acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) usually involves the skin, gastrointestinal tract, and liver. A 47-year-old woman with fever of unknown origin was referred for a Ga-67 scan. The study showed diffuse uptake of Ga-67 throughout the skin. Subsequently, a skin biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of acute GVHD.

Graft-induced reduction in [3H]dopamine uptake into the non-lesioned striatum
NeuroReport, 1995The effect of intraventricular fetal mesencephalic grafts placed in the 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) lesioned striatum on [3H]dopamine (DA) uptake into synaptosomes was studied. Apomorphine (APO)- and amphetamine (AMPH)-induced rotational behaviour was continuously reduced by the grafts over 7 months. After this time, a non-significant increase in [3H]DA

Uptake of radiolabeled leukocytes in prosthetic graft infection.
Surgery, 1981The utility of radionuclide labeled leukocytes in the demonstration of infection within vascular prostheses was examined. The infrarenal aorta was replaced with a 3 cm Dacron graft in 12 dogs. On the third postoperative day, six of the animals received an intravenous injection of 10(8) Staphylococcus aureus.

Solid Fixation on Grafted Mesoporous Silica for Actinide Uptake
2022In recent years, there has been growing interest in the focus on research to develop new hybrid materials capable of selectively extracting actinides [1]. Mesoporous silicas functionalized with organic ligands have been studied for this purpose.

BIOMASS NUTRIENT CONCENTRATION AND UPTAKE OF GRAFTED AND NON-GRAFTED PEPPER PLANTS
2017Study was conducted to compare nutrient concentrations and nutrient uptakes of grafted and non-grafted pepper. The F1 hybrid, long type 'Efil' (Asgen, Turkey) was grafted on commercial rootstocks, 'Guclu' (GrainesVoltz, Tiirkiye). Un- grafted 'Efir'cultivar and itself grafting Efil/Efir were also used as control.

ABSTRACTExpanded polytetrafluoroethylene, ePTFE, is an attractive material for use as the implant in facial reconstruction surgery because it is bioinert; however, its low surface energy does not facilitate a strong interfacial bond with bone and thus for some applications the surfaces need to be modified to enhance their bone‐integration properties ...
