Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Addressing global wheat issues one-grain-at-a-time, based on gliadin alleles
For decades, electrophoretic analysis of wheat‐gliadin composition has been a valuable approach to elucidating the genetic constitution of a grain sample, providing this information even at the single‐grain level.

Strongly coupled artificial bulk HTS grain boundaries with high critical current densities
A multi-seeding process has been developed to fabricate single Y-Ba-Cu-O (YBCO) grains containing strong artificial grain boundaries. Multi-seeding of heterogeneous YBCO grains with controlled orientation was achieved using large Sm-Ba-Cu-O (SmBCO ...

A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF GRAIN MASS AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE IN WORKING WITH GRAIN
The article shows key physical properties of the grain mass: looseness, self-sorting and thermal-moisture conduction. Classical information was supplemented by practical and scientific observations of the author.

AbstractI have been interested in concurrent programming since about 1963, when its associated problems contributed to the failure of the largest software project that I have managed. When I moved to an academic career in 1968, I hoped that I could find a solution to the problems by my research.
