Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Dynamic Changes of Wheat Quality during Grain Filling in Waxy Wheat WX12

open access: yes, 2011
Changes of quality traits such as grain sugar, starch, and protein content in full waxy and normal wheat in field grown samples was studied during grain filling. Compared to the normal line, the soluble sugar, sucrose and pentosan contents were higher in

Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Influence of temperature on the composition and polymerization of gluten proteins during grain filling in spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

open access: yes, 2015
One Norwegian and one UK spring wheat cultivar, Bjarne and Cadenza, respectively, were grown in climate chambers to investigate the effects of lower to moderate temperatures during grain filling on the gluten quality.

Grain filling parameters and yield components in wheat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Grain yield of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is influenced by number of grains per unit area and grain weight, which is result of grain filling duration and rate.

Al–Cu Composite Casting of Laser‐Deoxidized Copper: Bonding, Interfacial Chemistry, and Thermal Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser‐based oxide removal of Cu inserts in oxygen‐free conditions and examines long‐term oxidation kinetics and surface chemistry under different atmospheres via X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Al–Cu compound casting with differently oxidized surfaces is performed, and intermetallic phase formation, morphology, and thermal ...

Grain Filling Mechanisms in Spring Wheat. I. Grain filling phases according to the development of plant organs.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Crop Science, 1993
To define the growth phases for analyzing the physiological and morphological mechanisms of grain filling in a spring wheat canopy, the dry weight of the grains and the water soluble sugar content (WSC) and structural weight of the culm were measured for the variety Haruyutaka everyday during the grain-filling period.
