Analysis of loss of grain grains by classical thrusting and separating device of grain harvester combine

open access: yesNaukovì Dopovìdì Nacìonalʹnogo Unìversitetu Bìoresursiv ì Prirodokoristuvannâ Ukraïni, 2021
Based on the analysis of most domestic combines, it is established that they have a traditional scheme of threshing and separating device, which includes one or two sequentially arranged threshing threshers and keyboard straw shaker. The design of drumming from rods with cross plates provides, first of all, intensification of process of threshed grain.

Post-Harvest Insect Pests and Their Management Practices for Major Food and Export Crops in East Africa: An Ethiopian Case Study

open access: yesInsects, 2022
Ethiopian subsistence farmers traditionally store their grain harvests, leaving them open to storage pests and fungi that can cause contamination of major staple crops.

Excess and loss of entropy production for different levels of coarse graining [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2021
We investigate the effect of coarse-graining on the energetics properties of a system, focusing on entropy production. As a case of study, we consider a one-dimensional colloidal particle in contact with a thermal bath, moving in a sinusoidal potential and driven out of equilibrium by a small constant force.

Anaerobic Storage Characteristics of Whole-Ear Corn and Stover

open access: yesAgriEngineering, 2023
Whole-plant corn has been previously investigated as a biomass feedstock. Current approaches are analogous to harvesting whole-plant corn for livestock feed or biogas production.

Weight losses of wheat grain caused by psocid infestation (Liposcelis bostrychophila: Liposcelididae: Psocoptera)

open access: yesPlant Protection Science, 2002
ocids are commonly found to be a persistent pest in structures of grain stores. Grain residues are potential pest reservoirs that serve as sources of grain re-infestation. Weight losses caused by psocids on broken wheat kernels were measured.

Research Progress on Bio-control Technology of Stored-grain Pests

open access: yesLiang you shipin ke-ji, 2020
The long-term use of chemical insecticides to control stored-grain pests has caused problems like pest resistance and environment pollution. The article briefly introduces some common pests and the losses they caused.

Determination of Grain Losses on Combine Harvester

open access: yes, 2021
Abstract In this study, an explanation of how to determine the values of the harvesting losses was given, for the harvested crops resulting from using the combine harvester according to the old traditional methods and modern methods. The way of how the maps of the grain losses are obtained and evaluated was discussed.

Yield losses in grain sorghum due to rust infection

open access: yes, 2011
Although rust (caused by Puccinia purpurea) is a common disease in Australian grain sorghum crops, particularly late in the growing season (April onwards), its potential to reduce yield has not been quantified.

An Overview of the Post-Harvest Grain Storage Practices of Smallholder Farmers in Developing Countries

open access: yesAgriculture, 2018
Grain storage loss is a major contributor to post-harvest losses and is one of the main causes of food insecurity for smallholder farmers in developing countries. Thus, the objective of this review is to assess the conventional and emerging grain storage
