Effects of grain size on tensile property and fracture morphology of 316L stainless steel

Materials letters (General ed.), 2019
The aim of this work is to understand the relationship among average grain size, dimple size and tensile properties of 316L stainless steel via directly experimental results.

Effects of Grain Size on Mechanical Properties and Work‐Hardening Behavior of AISI 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel

Steel Research International, 2019
Grain size effects on the properties of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel are studied. Yield stress (YS) and ultimate tensile strength (UTS) increased with decreasing grain size (Hall–Petch law) while the difference between YS and UTS decreased.

Grain size effect on the dielectric and non-ohmic properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 ceramics prepared by the sol-gel process

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2019
Grain size control is very important for enhancing the electric properties of CaCu3Ti4O12 (CCTO) ceramics. The effect of grain sizes on the dielectric and non-ohmic properties of the CCTO ceramics was investigated.

Effect of grain size on cluster size

Journal of Applied Physics, 2005
A cluster size of a perpendicular medium was calculated from the correlation between grains in M-H loops. The cluster size was affected by physical properties as follows. When grain size is small and exchange stiffness constant A is not zero, the cluster size increases with decreasing grain-size.

Plasticity and Grain Boundary Diffusion at Small Grain Sizes

Advanced Engineering Materials, 2010
AbstractBulk nanostructured—or ultrafine‐grained materials are often fabricated by severe plastic deformation to break down the grain size by dislocation accumulation. Underlying the often spectacular property enhancement that forms the basis for a wide range of potential applications is a modification of the volume fraction of the grain boundaries ...

Effect of the initial grain size on the final grain size of materials of bellows

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 1985
The final grain size of the material of measuring bellows is determined by the conditions of mechanical and heat treatment, and it depends little on the initial grain size; this makes it possible to eliminate acceptance control of the grain size of material for bellows in the state as supplied.

Grain Boundary Reconstruction for Grain Sizing

1991
Measuring ASTM grain size by automatic image analysis is often made difficult by the inability of the image analyzer to detect grain boundaries accurately. For this reason, a logic-based method for grain boundary reconstruction has been developed. ASTM G was measured at various grain sizes both before and after image processing.

Grain‐size–dependent dielectric properties in nanograin ferroelectrics

Journal of The American Ceramic Society, 2018
A series of ferroelectric ceramic models with grain and grain-boundary structures of different sizes are established via Voronoi tessellations. A phase-field model is introduced to study the dielectric breakdown strength of these ferroelectric ceramics ...

Grain‐Size Determinations

Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1981
This study compares the grain sizes of dense, equiaxed gadolinia (Gd 2 O 3 ) specimens as determined by light microscope/polished surface and by scanning electron microscope/fracture surface techniques.

Grit Sizes and Grain Size Conversions

2004
Abstract This article contains a conversion table, which assists in the conversion of ASTM number to average grain intercept length. It also includes a table that lists European and U.S. grit numbers with their approximate particle size for metallographic grinding papers.
