Characterizing stress effects on rice grain development and filling using grain weight and size distribution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Abiotic stresses such as salinity affect rice yield components and grain quality. Among these components, 1000-grain weight (TGW) is thought to be quite constant due to a rigid hull whose size is genetically determined, but chilling and salinity stresses

Effect of different treatments on grain weight and protein content of the grains from different ear positions for barley

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2004
The effect of agronomic factors on grain weight and protein content of the grains from different ear positions (top, middle and bottom) in barley cultivars 92-11 and Xiumai-3 was studied. It was shown that grain weight of middle-positioned grains was the

Sketching, Streaming, and Fine-Grained Complexity of (Weighted) LCS

open access: yesCoRR, 2018
We study sketching and streaming algorithms for the Longest Common Subsequence problem (LCS) on strings of small alphabet size $|Σ|$. For the problem of deciding whether the LCS of strings $x,y$ has length at least $L$, we obtain a sketch size and streaming space usage of $\mathcal{O}(L^{|Σ| - 1} \log L)$.

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Effects of exogenous 2,4-epibrassinolide and its inhibitors on the seed setting and yield of Tartary buckwheat

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of exogenous 2,4-epibrassinolide (EBR) on the yield of Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum (L.) Gaertn.). A 2-year field experiment was conducted on Tartary buckwheat (cv.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Estimation of productivity indicators of new winter wheat varieties in the steppe Crimea

open access: yesЗерновое хозяйство России
The main sown areas in the Republic of Crimea are occupied by winter grain crops. The study conducted by Crimean scientists over many years and confirmed in production has shown that productivity of winter grain crops is unstable and varies significantly

Regional Association Analysis of MetaQTLs Delineates Candidate Grain Size Genes in Rice

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
Molecular mapping studies which aim to identify genetic basis of diverse agronomic traits are vital for marker-assisted crop improvement. Numerous Quantitative Trait Loci (QTLs) mapped in rice span long genomic intervals with hundreds to thousands of ...

Slip Localization Intensification Mediated by Grain Boundary Sliding in a Polycrystalline Nickel‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The temperature dependence of fatigue behavior in nickel‐based superalloys is investigated through high‐resolution measurements of plastic localization. While increasing temperature reduces localization and enhances fatigue performance in René 88DT, Inconel 718 exhibits a sharp degradation at intermediate temperature due to intensified slip ...

Genetic Relationships of Crown Rust Resistance, Grain Yield, Test Weight, and Seed Weight in Oat [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Integrating selection for agronomic performance and quantitative resistance to crown rust, caused by Puccinia coronata Corda var. avenae W.P. Fraser & Ledingham, in oat (Avena sativa L.) requires an understanding of their genetic relationships.
