Genetic improvements have significantly contributed to wheat production. Five wheat cultivars—widely grown in north China in the 1950s, 1990s, or 2010s—were grown in field experiments conducted in the 2014–2015 and 2015–2016 growing seasons.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Forage potential of semi-leafless grain peas [PDF]
Individually sown plants of a forage-type pea (Pisum sativum L.), cv. Magnus, and a grain-type pea cv. Eiffel, were harvested several times over the growing season to determine bow the quantity of plant components changed with time from sowing. There was

Cultivar and environmental effects on protein content and grain weight of malting barley
The protein content and grain weight of 8 barley cultivars were studied at six locations in Zhejiang province. The results showed that there were significant differences in protein content and grain weight among barley cultivars and growing locations. It

Test of the Additive-Dominance Model of grain weight and grain uniformity of oat, Avena sativa L, genotypes. [PDF]
An investigation of the genetic mechanisms controlling grain weights for the primary and secondary grains uniformity expressed in primary: secondary individual grain weight (P: S IGW) ratio and % tertiary grains produced was conducted using a backcross ...

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

COOPERATIVE MARKETING IN SPECIALTY GRAINS AND IDENTITY PRESERVED GRAIN MARKETS [PDF]
Marketing of specialty and identity preserved grains has become an important strategy in the grain marketing industry and is being driven, in part, by consumer and processor demand and an interest in non-GM products.
