A simple method to screen for azo-dye-degrading bacteria [PDF]
A stab-culture method was adapted to screen for azo dyes-decolorizing bacteria from soil and water samples. Decolorized azo dye in the lower portion of the solid media indicates the presence of anaerobic azo dyes-decolorizing bacteria, while aerobic ...

Schematic overview illustrating the detrimental role of gut microbiota in aspirin‐induced intestinal injury. L. sphaericus and its secreted carboxylesterase EstB are identified as key drivers that catalyze aspirin hydrolysis into salicylic acid, thereby exacerbating intestinal injury. Inhibition of EstB by the dietary compound flavanomarein effectively

This study presents a novel strategy for periodontitis treatment by co‐delivering a membrane‐ and ribosome‐targeting antimicrobial peptide GF and Irisin through a pH‐responsive metal‐organic framework. The system enables sequential release, providing rapid antibacterial action, anti‐inflammatory and antioxidative effects, as well as promoting bone ...

Defect‐Rich 2D Layered Double Hydroxides Enhance Sonodynamic Antibacterial Therapy
This study develops defect‐rich ultrathin ZnCuW‐LDH nanosheets (DR‐ZnCuW‐LDH) via acid etching. DR‐ZnCuW‐LDH exhibits fourfold enhanced US‐triggered ROS production due to oxygen defects and electronic modulation, demonstrating potent antibacterial efficacy in vitro/vivo.

Characterisation of aerobic gram-negative bacteria from subgingival sites of dogs – potential bite wound pathogens [PDF]
Ninety-eight aerobic, gram-negative bacterial isolates from subgingival samples from family-owned dogs with naturally occurring periodontitis were characterised phenotypically by conventional biochemical testing, by cellular fatty acid profiling and by the use of commercial identification systems. The majority (48, 81%) of the fermentative isolates but
