A grand unified theory of trust

open access: yes
Trust is a vital, yet nebulous philosophical concept which has persistently defied singular definition despite undergoing millennia of research scrutiny. This thesis directly addresses this critical research gap by proposing a grand unified theory and model of trust, wherein a unitary definition of trust is articulated as ‘autopoietic risk mitigation’.

A Grand Unified Theory for Structural Computing

2004
Structural computing, in one sense, seeks to unify the notions of data and structure under a synthesized abstraction, by which data and structure become views to be applied as the need or desire arises. Indeed, one way of looking at structural computing is that the notions of data and structure are contextual, not essential.

The grand unified theory of address spaces

Proceedings 5th Workshop on Hot Topics in Operating Systems (HotOS-V), 2002
A key decision in the design of an operating system is which facilities to provide for the management and composition of the address space. A wide spectrum of schemes exist, ranging from the private process address spaces of Unix through to the recently revived single address space approach.

Grand Unified Theories

1996
I would like to begin by thanking Nino Zichichi, Harvey Newman, Tom Ypsilantis, and all the staff for the opportunity to be in this beautiful place and to reminisce about a fun decade of physics. Because time is so short, I am going to focus very narrowly on the decade of the 70′s, and to concentrate particularly on a 24 hour period which, for me, was ...

Precocious unification in simple grand unified theories

Physical Review D, 1985
We investigate how simple grand unified theories with a precocious-unification mass can be constructed. The maximal local symmetry of 2mn left-handed fermions and their left-handed antiparticles is shown to be a viable candidate, where m and n are the number of families and colors, respectively. The predictions of such a model are studied.
