Macroeconomics Linkages on Indonesian Economic Growth: A Granger Causality Analysis

open access: yesJurnal Penelitian Ekonomi dan Bisnis, 2023
Macroeconomic indicators and trade performance are essential components of developing countries' development as a whole. The upheaval caused by government policies, the economic crisis, and the pandemic that facilitated economic mobility became a major ...

Synergy and redundancy in the Granger causal analysis of dynamical networks

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
We analyze by means of Granger causality the effect of synergy and redundancy in the inference (from time series data) of the information flow between subsystems of a complex network. Whilst we show that fully conditioned Granger causality is not affected by synergy, the pairwise analysis fails to put in evidence synergetic effects.

Mapping the “Supply–Demand–Flow” of Ecosystem Services for Ecosystem Management in China

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a “supply–demand–flow” framework clarifies how ecosystem services move between regions by distinguishing potential and actual supply and demand. Using integrated biophysical–socioeconomic modeling, nine services in China were mapped.

Adult Sex Ratio as a Demographic Feedback Linking Mating Systems, Parental Care, and Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Breeding systems are some of the most diverse social behavior, and our team is investigation the evolutionary causes of this diversity. This review summarises our research carried out at the University of Bath. We argue that demographic components of wild populations, especially the adult sex ratio, plays a key role driving breeding system variation ...

A Single‐Cell Transcriptomic Atlas of the Ovine Rumen Microbiome Characterizes Lineage‐Specific Metabolic Shifts Associated with Host Heat Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An optimized single‐cell transcriptomic framework profiles over 60 000 cells to map the ovine rumen microbiome, partitioning the ecosystem into seven cross‐species functional clusters. In heat‐resistant hosts, a lineage‐specific metabolic shift in Anaerovibrio lipolyticus toward a highly glycolytic phenotype contributes to a “nutritional sparing ...

Causal Identification Based on Compressive Sensing of Air Pollutants Using Urban Big Data

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This study addresses the causal identification of air pollutants from surrounding cities affecting Beijing's air quality. A novel compressive sensing causality analysis (CS-Causality) method, which combines Granger causality analysis (GCA) and maximum ...

Granger causality analysis of steady-state electroencephalographic signals during propofol-induced anaesthesia. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Changes in conscious level have been associated with changes in dynamical integration and segregation among distributed brain regions. Recent theoretical developments emphasize changes in directed functional (i.e., causal) connectivity as reflected in ...

Causal‐Guided Ultra‐Long‐Term Time Series Forecasting Via Anticipated Covariates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Often treated as unknown, information from the future remains underutilized. We demonstrate that in a coupled dynamical system, providing the future state of the effect enables accurate forecasting of the cause for a long timesteps. A time series forecasting paradigm that introduces anticipated covariates to represent such known future states is ...

Spike-field Granger causality for hybrid neural data analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Neurophysiology, 2019
Neurotechnological innovations allow for simultaneous recording at various scales, ranging from spiking activity of individual neurons to large neural populations’ local field potentials (LFPs). This capability necessitates developing multiscale analysis of spike-field activity.

Kenyan Farmers' Policy Priorities During Economic Crisis and Stability: Insights From a Best‐Worst Scaling Experiment

open access: yesApplied Economic Perspectives and Policy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Amid rising food and fertilizer prices, understanding farmers' policy preferences is critical for effective crisis response. We use best‐worst scaling experiment to assess Kenyan mobile‐owning crop farmers' preferences for government support under high and normal price scenarios.
