CPT and pile tests in granitic residual soils
Realizaram-se ensaios de cone holandês e ensaios de estacas em solos residuais graníticos e comparam-se os resultados dos dois tipos de ensaios. Foram ensaiadas duas estacas, uma de 600 mm de dimetro feita com tubo aberto e extracção de solo e outra de 500 mm feita com a cravação no solo de um tubo fechado.

Abstract Soils that contain swelling clay minerals (e.g., montmorillonite) expand and contract during wetting and drying, causing movement within the soil profile. This process, known as argilliturbation, can alter artefact distributions, destroy stratigraphy and complicate the interpretation of archaeological deposits.
