The Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 4, September 2026.Middle Triassic turbidites in the Youjiang Basin were chiefly derived from a Late Palaeozoic continental arc along the southeastern South China Block, as revealed by detrital zircon U–Pb geochronology and tourmaline geochemistry, supporting a tectonic model driven by Paleo‐Pacific subduction rather than Paleo‐Tethyan closure.

The Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 4, September 2026.These findings confirm that the Campanian‐aged Bozbent Member turbiditic sequence in the Eastern Pontides was deposited in an extensional fore‐arc basin and therefore exhibits the petrographic and geochemical characteristics of passive margin sandstones.
