Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Social Grants as a Tool for Poverty Reduction in South Africa? A Longitudinal Analysis Using the NIDS Survey

open access: yesAfrican Studies Quarterly, 2020
South Africa is challenged by poverty and unemployment, as is characteristic of many developing countries. For those who cannot engage in wage labour, the government has a social assistance (grants) program which provides cash transfers for children ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Data-only contention-based grant-free multiple access for 5G mMTC

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2019
For contention-based grant-free access, reference signal collision would restrict the performance. A data-only contention-based grant-free scheme was considered, where the blind detection receiver does not depend on reference signal to detect users ...

Adaptive Switching Method for 5G Grant-Free URLLC Scheduling

open access: yes2024 6th International Conference on Communications, Signal Processing, and their Applications (ICCSPA)
Ultra-reliable and low latency communication (URLLC) is a major use case scenario of 5G New Radio (NR), requiring high reliability and stringent latency. The grant based scheduling mechanism in long-term evolution (LTE) is not suited to this requirement, so grant-free (GF) access has been developed to reduce latency and signaling overhead. GF mechanism

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
