Development of Geocapillary Barrier System for Water Retention in Highway Landscaping
This study investigates the potential use of geosynthetic materials as capillary barriers to enhance water retention in landscaping soils. The soil was first classified using the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS); then, the Van Genuchten model was used to model and compare the unsaturated hydraulic characteristics of the soil and geosynthetic ...

Expansive soils cause volume changes because they swell and lose strength when wet and shrink when dried. Light buildings and pavements constructed over such soils will not last long due to settlement and cyclic volume changes. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to blend black cotton soil with cement and waste glass powder (WGP) in order to ...

This study examines the enhancement of engineering properties in expansive subgrade soils through stabilization with coffee husk ash (CHA), an agricultural byproduct obtained from coffee husk combustion. CHA was incorporated at 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% by dry soil weight, and the soil–CHA mixtures were cured for 7, 14, and 28 days.

Mechanical and Microstructural Properties of Clay Tile Waste Concrete Treated With Silica Fume
The increasing generation of Ceramic Clay Tile Waste (CCTW) has prompted the construction industry to explore sustainable alternatives in concrete production. This study investigates the use of CCTW aggregates as a partial replacement for natural coarse aggregates in concrete and silica fume (SF) as a pozzolana, addressing sustainability challenges in ...
