Review and Meta-Analyses of TAAR1 Expression in the Immune System and Cancers

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2018
Since its discovery in 2001, the major focus of TAAR1 research has been on its role in monoaminergic regulation, drug-induced reward and psychiatric conditions. More recently, TAAR1 expression and functionality in immune system regulation and immune cell

The Value of Immature Granulocyte and Immature Granulocyte/Total Granulocyte Ratio in Predicting the Need for Surgical Treatment in Patients Diagnosed with Intestinal Ileus in the Emergency Department

open access: yesGenel Tıp Dergisi, 2023
Background/Aims: Although many biomarkers that can predict the need for surgical treatment of patients with intestinal ileus have been investigated, effective, inexpensive, and fast-resulting biomarkers have not been determined. In our study, showing the

Reduction by Granulocyte Colony-Stimulating Factor of Fever and Neutropenia Induced by Chemotherapy in Patients with Small-Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yes, 1991
Background. Neutropenia and infection are major dose-limiting side effects of chemotherapy. Previous studies have suggested that recombinant methionyl granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) can reduce chemotherapy-related neutropenia in patients ...

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Early metastasis is characterized by Gr1+ cell dysregulation and is inhibited by immunomodulatory nanoparticles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer metastasis is associated with myeloid cell dysregulation and the lung‐specific accumulation of tumor‐supportive Gr1+ cells. Gr1+ cells support metastasis, in part, through a CHI3L1‐mediated mechanism, which can be targeted and inhibited with cargo‐free, polymeric nanoparticles.

Granulocytic sarcoma of the skin [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Medical Association Journal, 2008
An 89-year-old woman with refractory anemia presented with a painful neck mass that measured 5 cm × 3 cm ([Figure 1][1]A). Her peripheral leukocyte count was (118 × 109/L), with 98% immature blood cells.

Development of 4T1 breast cancer mouse model system for preclinical carbonic anhydrase IX studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a well‐recognised therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in cancer. We developed and characterised a robust murine breast cancer model system that is suitable for CAIX studies in vitro and in vivo—it comprises both CAIX‐positive and CAIX‐negative controls and provides a solid platform for the comprehensive ...

Normal chemotactic activity of granulocytes obtained by filtration leucapheresis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
The chemotactic activity of granulocytes obtained by the Terumo Filtration Leucapheresis System (F.L.) was examined by the method of Boyden's chamber. The number of cells migrating through the Millipore filter was expressed as the chemotactic activity ...

Factors for Rituximab Refractoriness in AQP4‐IgG+ NMOSD: A Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a severe autoimmune condition of the central nervous system (CNS), often associated with aquaporin‐4 antibodies (AQP4‐IgG). Rituximab, a CD20+ B‐cell depleting monoclonal antibody, is widely used as first‐line therapy.
