Primary Antibody Deficiency in Patients With Chronic Rhinosinusitis: A Call for Immunologic Evaluation Prior to Biologic Therapy

open access: yesClinical Otolaryngology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is prevalent and causes a great negative impact on quality of life. Primary antibody deficiency (PAD) is highly prevalent with CRS compared to the background population. There are efficient treatment options to consider when CRS is a symptom of PAD. The condition seems to be underdiagnosed.

Soluble IL‐2 receptor levels support diagnosis of sarcoidosis‐like reaction in melanoma patients on immunotherapy – a diagnostic algorithm based on a single center retrospective study

open access: yesJDDG: Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft, EarlyView.
Summary Background and Objectives Drug‐induced sarcoidosis‐like reaction (DISR) is an adverse event with emerging importance during immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) treatment in melanoma patients. Its reported frequency varies widely, making accurate diagnosis crucial.

Robustness of a convolutional neural network trained on dermoscopic images and challenged with close‐up images

open access: yesJDDG: Journal der Deutschen Dermatologischen Gesellschaft, EarlyView.
Summary Background and Objectives Deep learning‐convolutional neural networks (DL‐CNNs) have demonstrated high diagnostic accuracy within the domain of dermoscopy. However, many clinical settings lack dermoscopic devices, requiring reliance on close‐up images. This study evaluates the robustness of a DL‐CNN trained on dermoscopic images when challenged
