Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 10, 20 May 2026.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Toward Low‐Consumable Anodes: Process Simulation and Prospective Life Cycle Assessment of NiFe2O4‐NiO‐Ni‐Cu vs. Prebaked Anodes for Aluminum Production with use of Molten Salt Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 10, 20 May 2026.
Low‐consumable nickel ferrite‐based anodes for the Hall–Héroult process are compared with conventional prebaked carbon anodes using thermodynamic simulation and prospective life cycle assessment under contrasting future electricity system pathways from 2025 to 2050.

Etude des paramètres opératoires de pressage mécanique des amandes de Vitellaria paradoxa Gaertn C.F. (karité) [PDF]

open access: yesBiotechnologie, Agronomie, Société et Environnement, 2007
Study of the operational parameters of mechanical pressing of almonds of Vitellaria paradoxa Gaertn C.F. (shea tree). Sheabutter is one of the most difficult oleaginous resources to extract by traditional way.

Multiple additive regression trees as a tool for estimating soil properties. Principles and applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Pedotransfer functions (PTFs) are used to estimate soil properties that are difficult and costly to measure, from others properties that are available. MART, namely Multiple Additive Regression Trees belongs to the boosted regression trees (BRT) family ...

Morphological filtering on hypergraphs

open access: yes, 2014
The focus of this article is to develop computationally efficient mathematical morphology operators on hypergraphs. To this aim we consider lattice structures on hypergraphs on which we build morphological operators. We develop a pair of dual adjunctions

Microplastic beaching dependence on sediment grain size

open access: yesFrontiers in Water
Microplastic (MP) beaching is the buildup of microplastics (MPs) in sand and along the coastline. It is a growing environmental issue in which beaches act as traps for MPs, impacting marine life and potentially human health.

The origin of beach sediments on the North Queensland coast [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
Petrographic and granulometric analyses of North Queensland beach sediments indicate their affinity with sediments delivered to the coast by rivers, and it is shown that the beaches are largely derived from fluvial sediment reworked, sorted and ...

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PHYSICO-CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF GROUND AND BIOMETRICS ROSEHIP FRUITS

open access: yesFood and Environment Safety, 2019
Soil analysis was determined in order to identify the type of soil through nutrient analysis and granulometric analysis, features that may occur in the fructification of the species Rosa canina L.

Granulometry within the kinematic theory of open system transformation

open access: yesЗаписки Горного института
Polymodality of statistical sand grain size distribution is due to the changes in kinematic energy of aquatic environment during the process of sediment deposition in open system-facies.
