Use of beneficial bacteria and their secondary metabolites to control grapevine pathogen diseases [PDF]
Grapevine is one of the most important economic crops yielding berries, wine products as well as derivates. However, due to the large array of pathogens inducing diseases on this plant, considerable amounts of pesticides—with possible negative impact on

Botryosphaeria spp. as Grapevine Trunk Disease Pathogens
Several species of Botryosphaeria, including Botryosphaeria dothidea, B. obtusa, B. parva and B. australis, were isolated and/or described from declining grapevines in association with a wide range of decline and dieback symptoms. Internal wood symptoms most commonly included black streaking, wedge-shaped necrosis and brown internal necrosis.

Grapevine trunk diseases: complex and still poorly understood [PDF]
This review presents an overview of eutypa dieback, esca and botryosphaeria dieback, the predominant grapevine trunk diseases worldwide. It covers their symptomatologies in the trunk, leaves and berries; the characteristics of the different fungal species associated with them; and host–pathogen interactions. Here, the host–pathogen

Profiling grapevine trunk pathogens in planta: a case for community-targeted DNA metabarcoding
Background DNA metabarcoding, commonly used in exploratory microbial ecology studies, is a promising method for the simultaneous in planta-detection of multiple pathogens associated with disease complexes, such as the grapevine trunk diseases.

Statistical analysis of grapevine mortality associated with esca or Eutypa dieback foliar expression
Esca and Eutypa dieback are two major wood diseases of grapevine in France. Their widespread distribution in vineyards leads to vine decline and to a loss in productivity.
