Graph drawing applications in combinatorial theory of maturity models
In this paper, we introduce tiled graphs as models of learning and maturing processes. We show how tiled graphs can combine graphs of learning spaces or antimatroids (partial hypercubes) and maturity models (total orders) to yield models of learning processes.

This pilot study investigates the potential of Generative AI to provide formative feedback to students. ChatGPT was prompted to provide feedback on Year 1 Bioscience essays, which were evaluated against established good feedback practices. GenAI‐authored feedback had useful elements, but was limited in scope. GenAI may have potential to provide instant,

Type I interferons modulate autophagy to shape gemcitabine response in pancreatic cancer cells
Type I interferons differentially modulate autophagy and the response of pancreatic cancer cells to gemcitabine. IFNα2b stimulates autophagic flux and protects cells from gemcitabine‐induced cell death, contributing to chemoresistance. In contrast, IFNβ1a inhibits autophagosome formation and enhances gemcitabine‐induced cell death, resulting in ...

During the current opioid crisis, the majority of overdose deaths are attributed to ultra‐potent synthetic opioids, such as fentanyl. While fentanyl exerts its action via opioid receptors, we propose that potassium channels in the brain blood vessels may also sense fentanyl.

Life‐science educators from 14 countries redesigned their own course materials with generative AI in a three‐session, pedagogy‐first FEBS Education and Training Academy workshop built on PICRAT. Among 12 matched respondents, four more reported high confidence in each of five practical domains, and 10 of 13 reported implementing at least one idea ...

Accelerating defect predictions in semiconductors using graph neural networks
First-principles computations reliably predict the energetics of point defects in semiconductors but are constrained by the expense of using large supercells and advanced levels of theory. Machine learning models trained on computational data, especially

ABSTRACT Objective Isolated rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) is a prodromal state for Lewy body disorders and exhibits biological heterogeneity that may influence clinical expression and progression. We examined clinical features in individuals with iRBD and biomarker‐defined synucleinopathy.

Tits alternatives for graph products
We discuss various types of Tits Alternative for subgroups of graph products of groups, and prove that, under some natural conditions, a graph product of groups satisfies a given form of Tits Alternative if and only if each vertex group satisfies this ...
