Node-attribute graph layout for small-world networks [PDF]
Small-world networks are a very commonly occurring type of graph in the real-world, which exhibit a clustered structure that is not well represented by current graph layout algorithms. In many cases we also have information about the nodes in such graphs,

The State of the Art in Empirical User Evaluation of Graph Visualizations
While graph drawing focuses more on the aesthetic representation of node-link diagrams, graph visualization takes into account other visual metaphors making them useful for graph exploration tasks in information visualization and visual analytics ...

Visualizing weighted edges in graphs [PDF]
This paper introduces a new edge length heuristic that finds a graph layout where the edge lengths are proportional to the weights on the graph edges. The heuristic can be used in combination with the spring embedder to produce a compromise between a drawing with an accurate presentation of edge length and a drawing with good general comprehensibility.

A graph rewriting programming language for graph drawing [PDF]
This paper describes Grrr, a prototype visual graph drawing tool. Previously there were no visual languages for programming graph drawing algorithms despite the inherently visual nature of the process.

Visualizing Memory Graphs [PDF]
To understand the dynamics of a running program, it is often useful to examine its state at specific moments during its execution. We present memory graphs as a means to capture and explore program states. A memory graph gives a comprehensive view of all data structures of a program; data items are related by operations like dereferencing, indexing or ...
