Graphical representation in graphical dialogue

International Journal of Human-Computer Studies, 2002
Abstract This paper explores the influence of communicative interaction on the form of graphical representations. A referential communication task is described which involves exclusively graphical dialogue. In this task subjects communicate about pieces of music by drawing.

Mobile Graphics

IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 2008
Mobile phones form a ubiquitous graphics platform; over half of the world population uses them. This special issue presents solutions that overcome some of the inherent limitations of these compact computing devices and make use of the fact that they are available at all times, not just at your desk.

Graphics processing on a graphics supercomputer

IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, 1989
A description is given of the Titan Graphics Supercomputer. The primary design philosophy was to have as little redundant hardware as possible and to make as much of the hardware available to compiled application code as possible. This led to a design with multiple parallel processors, each with an integer unit and a vector floating-point unit.

Smart Graphics/Intelligent Graphics

Informatik-Spektrum, 2014
Uberblick und Entwicklung ,,Intelligent Graphics is about visually representing the world and visually representing our ideas. Artificial intelligence is about symbolically representing the world, and symbolically representing our ideas. And between the visual and the symbolic, between the concrete and the abstract, there should be no boundary.“Henry ...

Graphic design for computer graphics

Computers in Industry, 1983
Abstract Because computer graphics systems are capable of sophisticated displays of typography, symbols, color, spatial organization, and temporal sequencing, it is appropriate to seek principles for designing effective communication from the discipline of graphic design whose expertise lies in programming visible language.

A Graphical Semantics for Graphical Transformation Languages

Journal of Visual Languages & Computing, 1997
Abstract Understanding the semantics of graphical representations of textual programs can be difficult because the reader must understand both the relationship between the graphic and textual representations as well as the semantics of the underlying textual program.

A graphical pascal extension based on graphical types

Software: Practice and Experience, 1981
AbstractThe goal of this paper is to present a graphical Pascal extension, named MIRA. This extension gives the user the means of defining and using specific graphical types. A complete vector arithmetic has been developed and a new structured type has been introduced: the figure type.

Projectors for graphics

ACM SIGGRAPH 2008 classes, 2008
Modern digital projectors are a central part of large-format displays, non-intrusive augmented reality systems and computational illumination for 3D image-based modeling. High speed and high framerate projectors also support intriguing applications in optical communication.
