Software architecture for graphical interaction
IBM Systems Journal, 1980Pointing at items on a graphics display is one of the most useful methods of interacting with a system graphically. This paper examines existing graphical support and lists requirements for high-level support of graphical interaction. The architecture of a prototype system with high-level support for graphical interaction is presented.

Software aspects of business graphics
Computers & Graphics, 1983Abstract This paper considers some software and technical issues involved in the production of high quality three dimensional business graphics. It considers whether to use the vector or raster mode, the location or generation of source materials such as type fonts and geographic maps, existing 3-D plotting programs, and some technical issues in the ...

Graphics software for remote terminals and their use in radiation treatment planning
AFIPS '72 (Spring), 1972Interactive graphics' ability to provide a meaningful interface to investigators in a variety of applied fields has been recognized for many years. Nowhere is this promise greater than in medicine and the life sciences.

A GRAPHICAL TOOL FOR DESIGN PORTABLE AUTOMATION SOFTWARE [PDF]
Abstract UniSim is a graphical tool which can be used to avoid the choice of a specific commercial platform when teaching the IEC 61131-3 standard for programmable logic controllers. UniSim allows to develop automation software which is fully compliant with the standard, and to validate it via simulation.

An Algebraic Approach to the Standardization and the Certification of Graphics Software
Computer graphics forum (Print), 1983During the last decade most advances in programming languages as well as in programming methodology resulted from a consequent use of sound mathematical tools: the most impressive indicator of such a trend is the use of abstract data types which relate ...

Software for graphic display systems
Computer Physics Communications, 1978Abstract In this paper some aspects of graphic display systems are discussed. The design of a display subroutine library is described, with an example, and graphic dialogue software is considered primarily from the point of view of the programmer who uses a high-level language.

Software for Satellite Graphics
1971This paper is in three parts, the first comments on the size of satellite graphic configurations, the second on the software problems of effecting a link between two computers, while the last describes a software system designed for use with satellite displays. This system is currently being implemented by Marconi-Elliott Computer Systems Ltd., under A.
