Fluorine-intercalated graphite, CxF with x = 2.8, was tested for the cathode active material of an all-solid-fluoride-ion shuttle battery. The addition of copper fluoride facilitated the discharge reaction of CxF. It was discharged up to 0.4 V vs. Pb and

Reaction of graphite fluoride with NaOH–KOH eutectic
Abstract Graphite fluoride has been generally considered chemically inert against strong alkalis under ambient conditions. In the present study we demonstrate that treatment of graphite fluoride with eutectic NaOH–KOH mixture at 250 °C induces dramatic structural and textural changes in the solid as evidenced by XRD, FT-IR, Raman, UV–vis absorption ...

Ternary Intercalation Compound of Graphite with Aluminum Fluoride and Fluorine [PDF]
Abstract Ternary intercalation compound of graphite with AlF3 and F2, CxF(AlF3)y was prepared under fluorine atmosphere at temperatures of 20–400 °C. Typical 1st stage compound has a composition of C6F(AlF3)0.15 with repeat distance 9.40 Å. Rapid progress in the reaction led to the formation of graphite fluoride, (C2F)n.

Ferric chloride-graphite intercalation compounds prepared from graphite fluoride [PDF]
The reaction between graphite fluoride and ferric chloride was observed in the temperature range of 300 to 400 C. The graphite fluorides used for this reaction have an sp3 electronic structure and are electrical insulators. They can be made by fluorinating either carbon fibers or powder having various degrees of graphitization.

Investigating the effect of screen-printed structured graphite electrodes with low tortuosity for high-capacity and fast-charging lithium-ion batteries [PDF]
A flexible screen-printed graphite electrode was fabricated as an anode for developing fast-charging lithium-ion batteries with low tortuosity. A homogenous anode ink was prepared by mixing graphite as the active material, carbon black (C45) as the ...

Graphite-Mediated Microwave-Exfoliated Graphene Fluoride as Supercapacitor Electrodes
A graphite-mediated microwave-based strategy was used for solid-state exfoliation of graphite fluoride in a few seconds, followed by a simple yet efficient separation to obtain exfoliated materials based on the density difference between graphite and ...
