Insight into the effect of graphite grain sizes on the morphology, structure and electrical properties of reduced graphene oxide

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
One of the most promising ways of obtaining graphene on a large scale is a two-stage oxidation-reduction process. It is worth mentioning, however, that the quality, structure and properties of the obtained graphene are highly dependent not only on ...

Effects of carbon content and solidification rate on thermal conductivity of grey cast iron [PDF]

open access: yesChina Foundry, 2007
The thermal conductivity or diffusivity of pearlitic grey irons with various carbon contents is investigated by the laser flash method. The materials are cast in controlled thermal environments and produced in three dissimilar cooling rates.

Three-Dimensional Graphite Volume Partitioning in Compacted Graphite Iron Thermal Analysis Specimens with 0–0.30 wt.% 75FeSi Addition

open access: yesMetals
Two-dimensional metallography cannot be used to determine how graphite volume is partitioned among three-dimensional connected structures in compacted graphite iron (CGI), even when the conventional graphite fractions are similar.

The Effect of Boron (B) on the Microstructure and Graphite Morphology of Spheroidal Graphite Cast Iron

open access: yes, 2023
This study investigated the impact of boron and copper on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Spheroidal graphite Cast Iron (SCI). The addition of boron increased the ferrite content, while copper increased the stability of pearlite. The interaction between boron and copper significantly increased the ferrite content.
