Inverse Latitudinal Diversity Gradient, Systematics and Historical Biogeography in the Gomphocerinae Grasshoppers (Orthoptera, Acrididae)

open access: yesZoologica Scripta, Volume 55, Issue 1, Page 102-115, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The latitudinal diversity gradient (LDG), that is, the increase in species richness from the poles to the equator, is one of the oldest known ecological patterns. Its inverse (iLDG), where species richness increases toward higher latitudes, is less common but has recently attracted growing scientific interest.

Seamlessly Machine‐Knitted Multi‐Sensor Garment to Monitor and Quantify Dynamic Upper Body Movement

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 4, Issue 12, December 2025.
A seamlessly machine‐knitted multi‐sensor garment, that can detect multiplanar dynamic shoulder and elbow motion, is demonstrated. The garment has four strain sensors connected to a circuit board via flexible interconnects, with all components integrated into the fabric in a single manufacturing step.

Autonomous Sorting of Beads in a 3D Environment Using Levitating Magnetic Microrobots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
An untethered, magnetically actuated microrobot autonomously collects, weighs, classifies, and sorts passive particles in 3D environments. The system integrates motion control, trajectory planning, and action scheduling to perform fully automated operations.

Local agency, adaptation and the shadow system: The institutional architecture of social learning in rural areas of the UK and India [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Rural communities across the world face at times a range of environmental, social and economic pressures that threaten their viability in their current form. The ability of local actors to exercise agency in response to potential and emerging threats is
