Degradation of the semi-arid grasslands of southern Africa

Journal of Arid Environments, 1989
The degradation process in the semi-arid grasslands of southern Africa is mainly characterized by changes in the ratio between palatable and unpalatable species. Compositions with the largest palatable component occurs at light to moderate grazing conditions, while more severe grazing leads to an increase in unpalatable species.

[Characteristics of vegetation, soil, and their coupling of degraded grasslands].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2002
This paper presented the characteristics of the vegetation, soil, and their coupling in the gradient of grazing pressure of the degraded alpine grassland in Sunan county and of the typical arid grassland in Huanxian county, Gansu province. The abundance index of species, Simpson index, Shannon-Wiener index, Cody index, nutrient functional diversity ...
