Time varying gratings model Hawking radiation [PDF]
Diffraction gratings synthetically moving at trans-luminal velocities contain points where wave and grating velocities are equal. We show these points can be understood as a series of optical event horizons where wave energy can be trapped and amplified, leading to radiation from the quantum vacuum state.

Generation of 1180 Å period gratings with a Xe ion laser [PDF]
Holographic lithography with the 2315 Å line of a xenon ion laser is used to produce gratings in polymethylmethacrylate. An 1180 Å period grating is made and examined with a scanning electron microscope (SEM).

Comparison between Grating Imaging and Transient Grating Techniques on Measuring Carrier Diffusion in Semiconductor [PDF]
Optical grating technique, where optical gratings are generated via light inference, has been widely used to measure charge carrier and phonon transport in semiconductors. In this paper, compared are three types of transient optical grating techniques: transient grating diffraction, transient grating heterodyne, and grating imaging, by utilizing them ...

Heat Conduction Modulation in Incommensurate Twisted Stacking of Transition‐Metal Dichalcogenide
The interlayer thermal conductance in twisted bilayer TMDs is initially investigated experimentally by the thermoreflectance method. The overlap of lattice vibrations within individual layers and the interlayer interactions, as elucidated through both Raman spectroscopy and molecular dynamics simulations, are demonstrated to be critical factors in ...

Clarification on Generalized Lau condition for X-ray interferometers based on dual phase gratings [PDF]
To implement dual phase grating x-ray interferometry with x-ray tubes, one needs to incorporate an absorbing source grating. In order to attain good fringe visibility, the period of a source grating should be subject to a stringent condition. In literature some authors claim that the Lau-condition in Talbot-Lau interferometry can be literally ...
