Colloidal Crack Sintering Lithography for Light‐Induced Patterning of Particle Assemblies
Colloidal crack sintering lithography (CCSL) is a microfabrication technique that uses light‐induced photothermal heating to trigger sintering and controlled cracking in polymer colloidal assemblies. Local structural changes generate microchannels and patterns, enabling direct writing of diverse topographic motifs.

Dielectric laser acceleration of electrons close to a fused-silica grating has recently been observed (Peralta et al., Nature 503, 91 (2013); Breuer, Hommelhoff, PRL 111, 134803 (2013)).

Wide bandwidth and high coupling efficiency Si3N4-on-SOI dual-level grating coupler.
We propose and experimentally demonstrate fiber-to-chip grating couplers with aligned silicon nitride (Si(3)N(4)) and silicon (Si) grating teeth for wide bandwidths and high coupling efficiencies without the use of bottom reflectors.

A spatiotemporal plasma–mediated laser processing approach is developed to fabricate ultrahigh–aspect ratio nanochannel arrays and corresponding perovskite nanowire arrays within transparent materials for optoelectronics devices. The laser‐fabricated nanochannels serve as templates for controlled perovskite infiltration and crystallization, enabling ...

Improved 8-channel silicon mode demultiplexer with grating polarizers.
An improved 8-channel silicon mode demultiplexer is realized with TE-type and TM-type grating polarizers at the output ends, and these gratings serve as fiber-chip couplers simultaneously. The present 8-channel silicon mode demultiplexer includes a three-

A method is reported for time- and space-resolved nonintrusive velocimetry of high-speed gas flows by measurement of the Doppler shift of light scattered from a laser-induced thermal grating. The principle is demonstrated by use of a pulsed frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser to induce a thermal grating in NO(2) seeded into an argon flow.

4D Printing of Self‐Immolative Polymers
The integration of self‐immolative polymers (SIPs) into light‐based 3D printed structures is presented as a new “living” 4D printing strategy. By exploiting their metastability and stimuli‐responsiveness, SIP‐containing printed objects can undergo rapid and triggered degrowth under ambient conditions and subsequent regrowth through polymer ...

Laser Interferometry for Broad Area SPR-Grating Couplers in Chemical Applications
In this work, the fabrication of a SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance)-grating coupler using Laser Interference Lithography (LIL) has been investigated, giving rise to large area diffraction gratings on a 100 nm-thick gold film. The period of the diffraction

Quantum‐Grade Nanodiamonds from a Single‐Step, Industrial‐Scale Pressure and Temperature Process
Novel method for creation of nitrogen‐vacancy centers in 50‐nm nanodiamonds based on high‐temperature plastic deformation is demonstrated. Compared to the electron irradiation approach, it yields nitrogen‐vacancy centers with significantly improved charge stability, T1 relaxation time, and optical Rabi contrast.

Plasma instability and amplification of electromagnetic waves in low-dimensional electron systems
A general electrodynamic theory of a grating coupled two dimensional electron system (2DES) is developed. The 2DES is treated quantum mechanically, the grating is considered as a periodic system of thin metal strips or as an array of quantum wires, and ...
