Diffractoid grating configuration for X-ray and ultraviolet focusing [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
An aspheric grating is described which is operable to image local or distant point sources sharply in a designated wavelength, i.e., produce a perfectly stigmatic image in the given wavelength at grazing angles of incidence. The grating surface comprises

Silver Ion‐Mediated [hk1]‐Oriented Sb2Se3 Crystal Growth for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ag+‐mediated hydrothermal crystal engineering promotes preferential [hk1]‐oriented growth of Sb2Se3 via an ultrathin MoOx interlayer, improving crystallinity and suppressing non‐radiative recombination. The optimized Ag+ treatment photocathode delivers 24.7 mA cm−2 at 0 VRHE and improved stability, revealing an ion‐modulated route to high‐performance ...

A Programmable Semiconductor Containing Active Molecular Photoswitches Located in the Crystal's Volume Phase

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel approach for the design of functional semiconductors is presented, which utilizes the excellent optoelectronic properties of layered hybrid perovskites and the possibility to introduce a molecular photoswitch as the organic spacer. This concept is successfully demonstrated on a coumarin‐based system with the possibility to change the bandgap ...

Three‐Dimensional Hierarchical Nanowire‐Networks with Deep‐Focus Tolerance and Adhesion Robustness for Harsh‐Environment SERS Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D nanowire‐network SERS substrate with robust adhesion is developed, featuring pronounced z‐direction optical activity, ultralow detection limit (1.5 × 10−13 M), and excellent signal uniformity (RSD < 10%). Enabled by enhanced light scattering, increased optical density of states, and structural reinforcement, the substrate demonstrates stable, high‐

Gratefulness

open access: yesMODELLI DELLA MENTE
"Gratefulness" è un testo pubblicato recentemente, uno dei pochi disponibili in italiano. Lungo un percorso di scoperta con esercizi e case studies si esplora l'integrazione possibile tra gratitudine e mindfulness. L'atteggiamento grato e la pratica meditativa possono, se coltivate, trasformare in meglio la vita delle persone e delle comunit&

Scalable Thermal Engineering via Femtosecond Laser‐Direct‐Written Phononic Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that femtosecond laser‐induced periodic surface structures (fs‐LIPSS) can function as phononic metasurfaces, reducing thermal conductivity below the plain thin‐film limit. Phonon Monte Carlo analysis reveals that the periodic structures restrict phonon mean free paths.
