Effects of the preparation method of the ternary CdS/TiO_2/Pt hybrid photocatalysts on visible light-induced hydrogen production [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A variety of combinations of CdS, TiO2, and Pt in preparing the hybrid catalysts were studied for hydrogen production under visible light ( > 420 nm) irradiation. The preparation method sensitively influenced the activity of the ternary hybrid catalysts.

The Swift Surge of Perovskite Photovoltaics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The breakthrough early 1990s dye sensitization of mesoscopic TiO2 films along with a regenerative iodide redox couple led to the explosive growth of dye-sensitized solar cell (DSC) research.

Toward the Rational Design of Ion‐Conducting Ionic Liquid‐Incorporated Metal–Organic Framework Hybrids

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, Volume 21, Issue 1, January 2026.
We present the overview of the development of ionic liquid‐introduced metal–organic framework (IL@MOF) hybrids from the perspectives of synthetic methodologies to incorporate ILs into MOFs and ionic conduction controlled by IL filling level, ion species of ILs, and MOF structures such as pore size and pore surface state.

Synergetic Effects of Zn:Fe‐Codoped TiO2 Nanoparticles on the Structural, Optical, and Morphological Properties

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 223, Issue 2, January 2026.
This study reports the successful synthesis of zinc (Zn):iron (Fe)‐codoped titanium dioxide nanoparticles. Various codoping ratios are employed to determine how it affects the material properties. The study concludes that high Zn concentration codoped with Fe induces lattice distortion that improves its structural and optical properties and stability ...

Growth, Characterization, and Electrochemical Properties of Doped n-Type KTaO_3 Photoanodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The effects of compositionally induced changes on the semiconducting properties, optical response, chemical stability, and overall performance of KTaO_3 photoanodes in photoelectrochemical (PEC) cells have been investigated. Single crystals of n-type Ca-

Dye-Sensitized Nanostructured TiO2 Film Based Photoconductor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Grooves were etched in a conductive layer of a conductive, transparent glass, and a nanoporous TiO2 film was deposited on both the conductive and nonconductive area. The width of the grooves was 100 $\mu$m and 150 $\mu$m.

Unraveling Nanoarchitectonics‐Driven Metal–Support Interactions and Size Effects Governing CO Oxidation Activity of Size‐Selected Pt Clusters on TiO2 and SnO2 Supports

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Size‐selected Ptn (n = 13, 40) clusters supported on TiO2 and SnO2 were studied for CO oxidation under reaction conditions using in situ and ex situ XPS. The catalytic activity was found to depend not only on cluster size but also strongly on the support, with strong metal–support interaction playing a key role in determining both stability and overall

A Review of CZTS Thin‐Film Solar Cells Using Tandem and Multijunction Structures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Copper zinc tin sulfide (CZTS) is an earth‐abundant, nontoxic, and cost‐effective absorber material that has gained significant attention as a sustainable alternative to CIGS and CdTe in thin‐film photovoltaics (PVs). With a direct bandgap of 1.4–1.5 eV and a high absorption coefficient exceeding 104 cm−1, CZTS is well suited for both single‐junction ...

Materials Discovery of Stable and Nontoxic Halide Perovskite Materials for High-Efficiency Solar Cells

open access: yes, 2019
Two critical limitations of organic-inorganic lead halide perovskite materials for solar cells are their poor stability in humid environments and inclusion of toxic lead.
