Progress of Immune‐Inducible Biomaterials for Post‐Ablation Cancers

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The presence of residual tumors after ablative therapies poses a significant challenge, generally resulting in recurrence and metastases. This review offers a concise overview of immune‐inducible biomaterials from the perspective of the cancer‐immunity cycle, and how they enhance antitumor immunity through diverse mechanisms following ablative ...

Permeation Enhancer‐based Ionogel Shows Remarkable Potential for Oral Insulin Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes a novel formulation of decanoate in an ionic liquid inspired drug delivery system. The formulation demonstrates ideal physicochemical and material properties for oral peptide delivery. Findings indicate that choline decanoate (1:2 molar ratio) forms a viscoelastic gel that enables high oral bioavailability of insulin in rats ...

THE GENETICS OF GRAVES' DISEASE

open access: yesEndocrinology and Metabolism Clinics of North America, 2000
Graves' disease is a complex autoimmune disorder in which several genetic susceptibility loci and environmental factors are likely to contribute to the development of disease. HLA and the CTLA-4 gene region have been established as susceptibility loci, although the magnitude of their contributions seems to vary between data sets and geographic ...

Treatment of Ipilimumab Induced Graves' Disease in a Patient with Metastatic Melanoma

open access: yesCase Reports in Endocrinology, 2016
Objective. Thyroid disease has been reported among the endocrinopathies that can occur after treatment with ipilimumab. Graves' disease, however, has been rarely reported with this medication.

Safety Evaluation of Repeated Application of Polymeric Microarray Patches in Miniature Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the safety of repeated application of three types of microarray patches (MAPs), hydrogelforming, dissolving, and implantable, over four weeks in miniature pigs. No adverse skin or systemic effects were observed, supporting the clinical potential of MAPs as safe and effective drug delivery platforms.

Safety of different types of methylprednisolone puls-therapy in the treatment of Graves' orbitopathy

open access: yesКлиническая и экспериментальная тиреоидология, 2012
According to the EUGOGO’s (European Group On Graves' Orbitopathy) last consensus, the treatment of choice for Graves’ Orbitopathy (GO) is pulses of glucocorticoid (GC). There is a lack of evidence for superiority of any intravenous (iv) GC schedules.

High‐Resolution Patterned Delivery of Chemical Signals From 3D‐Printed Picoliter Droplet Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
3D‐printed picoliter droplet networks have been fabricated that control gene expression in bacterial populations by releasing chemical signals with precise spatial definition and high temporal resolution. This system of effector release is widely applicable, offering diverse applications in biology and medicine.
