Quantized Gravitational Field. II

Physical Review, 1963
A gravitational action operator is constructed that is invariant under general coordinate transformations and local Lorentz (gauge) transformations. To interpret the formalism the arbitrariness in description must be restricted by introducing gauge conditions and coordinate conditions.

Gravitational Field of a Particle

Nature, 1949
THE usual exterior Schwarzschild line element shows an obvious singularity for a certain value of r, say r = a. Since a is in every known case much smaller than the radius of the spherical body producing the field, the existence of the singularity appears to be of little interest to astronomers.

Axisymmetric gravitational fields

General Relativity and Gravitation, 1976
In this review paper Einstein equations for axisymmetric vacuum fields are introduced in the form given by Lewis. Following Ernst they are reduced to one complex potential equation. Weyl-type, Schwarzschild, Kerr, Tomimatsu-Sato solutions, and their NUT-like generalizations are then discussed.

Weak Gravitational Fields and Gravitational Waves

2016
In this chapter we summarize the most important facts about gravitational waves . We first describe the techniques used for their detection. After discussing their production by moving masses and deriving the relevant formulae from Einstein’s equation ( 2.324), we then estimate their strength for the most relevant astrophysical sources.

Gravitational Waves in Strong Gravitational Fields

1991
Gravitational fields cannot propagate instantaneously. The problem of detecting gravitational waves experimentally is an unsolved fundamental problem of modern experimental physics. The solution of this problem requires corresponding instrumentation with greater accuracy (the measured effect must exceed the level of the errors in the measurements), as ...

Gravitational Field Equations

Physical Review, 1954
Arguments are given to show that the laws that determine the motion of the ether should not refer to the motion of anything that is not in the immediate vicinity of the point whose motion is being considered. From this assumption and from Newton's laws of gravitation, the equations of motion of the ether are derived.
