Queer in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics: Following the Intersections of Queerness, Transness and Science Identities

open access: yesScience Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This multiple case study explores the intersections of queerness/transness and science education through a combined framework of queer theory, intersectionality, the construct of figured worlds and science identity. The study uses a life‐history approach to characterize the trajectories of three purposefully selected queer individuals who are ...

microJAX: A Differentiable Framework for Microlensing Modeling with GPU-accelerated Image-centered Ray Shooting

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We introduce microJAX , the first fully differentiable implementation of the image-centered ray shooting algorithm for gravitational microlensing. Built on JAX and its XLA just-in-time compiler, microJAX exploits GPU parallelism while providing exact ...

An Exact Universal Gravitational Lensing Equation

open access: yes, 1998
We first define what we mean by gravitational lensing equations in a general space-time. A set of exact relations are then derived that can be used as the gravitational lens equations in all physical situations.

The Measurement‐Impact Gap: A Bibliometric Diagnosis of Development Finance Institutions and SDG Research

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The role of Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a topic of growing scholarly importance. While existing literature has mapped the thematic scope of this field, a critical diagnosis of its intellectual structure and inherent biases is missing.

Engineering Hierarchically Nano‐Structured Cu Foams: Dynamic Hydrogen Bubble Templated Binder‐Free Freestanding Electrodes for Energy Applications

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The competition between H2 evolution (HER) and Cu electrodeposition during the dynamic hydrogen bubble templating (DHBT) crucially influences the synthesized foam morphology. Generally, when HER is dominating, numerous small H2 bubbles form, resulting in compact Cu foams.

A method to measure a relative transverse velocity of source-lens-observer system using gravitational lensing of gravitational waves

open access: yes, 2009
Gravitational waves propagate along null geodesics like light rays in the geometrical optics approximation, and they may have a chance to suffer from gravitational lensing by intervening objects, as is the case for electromagnetic waves.
