Fermat potentials for nonperturbative gravitational lensing [PDF]
The images of many distant galaxies are displaced, distorted and often multiplied by the presence of foreground massive galaxies near the line of sight; the foreground galaxies act as gravitational lenses. Commonly, the lens equation, which relates the placement and distortion of the images to the real source position in the thin-lens scenario, is ...

Flattened Galaxy Rotation Curves in the Exochronous Metric
We examine some of the consequences of the Exochronous (timeless) metric and the associated ΣGR cosmological model for the formation of galaxies, and, in particular, their characteristic rotation curves.

Chiral transport in curved spacetime via holography
We consider a holographic model of strongly interacting plasma with a gravitational anomaly. In this model, we compute parity-odd responses of the system at finite temperature and chemical potential to external electromagnetic and gravitational fields ...

The exterior gravitational potential of toroids [PDF]
ABSTRACT We perform a bivariate Taylor expansion of the axisymmetric Green function in order to determine the exterior potential of a static thin toroidal shell having a circular section, as given by the Laplace equation. This expansion, performed at the centre of the section, consists in an infinite series in the powers of the minor-to ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

The Galactic Gravitational Potential [PDF]
Observational constraints on the galactic potential and modelling aspects are reviewed. The following conclusions come out. The mass distribution generating the galactic gravitational potential should include a bulge to account for the innermost features of the rotation curve, an extensive massive corona responsible for a flat rotation at large radius,

This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

Massive scalar counterpart of gravitational waves in scalarized neutron star binaries
In analogy with spontaneous magnetization of ferromagnets below the Curie temperature, a neutron star (NS), with a compactness above a certain critical value, may undergo spontaneous scalarization and exhibit an interior nontrivial scalar configuration ...
