Reduced Graphene Oxide Transparent Electrodes Enabling Compact Soft Tunable Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By spray‐coating an elastomeric membrane with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) at various surface densities, elastomeric actuators are manufactured. Electro‐mechano‐optical characterizations show the suitability of rGO as an effective material for compliant, semi‐transparent electrodes, enabling soft electrically tunable lenses with a compact form factor ...

On the universality of MOG weak field approximation at galaxy cluster scale

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2017
In its weak field limit, Scalar-tensor-vector gravity theory introduces a Yukawa-correction to the gravitational potential. Such a correction depends on the two parameters, α which accounts for the modification of the gravitational constant, and μ⁎−1 ...

Gauge Transformation and Gravitational Potentials [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics, 1972
It is believed in particle physics that the velocity-dependent part of potential is, in general, ambiguous as far as it is derived from S-matrix. We consider the most general form of the graviton ·propagator under an arbitrary q-number gauge transformation for the graviton field. The. propagator depends on twelve arbitrary functions of k 2 ,.

Surprising Water Slipping Performance on Highly Hydrophilic PEG‐Derived Monolayer‐Covered Surfaces: Preparation, Mechanism, and Application

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Highly hydrophilic surfaces (water contact angle, ≈17.7°) exhibiting surprising water slipping performance (sliding angle, ≈7.3°) are successfully prepared via simple chemisorption of polyethylene glycol (PEG) organosilane and subsequent alkali‐treatment.

The gravitational potential of the bar in NGC 4314

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1994
We present near-infrared images of NGC 4314 in the $J$,$H$, and $K$ bands. Colors in these bands are constant across the bar of NGC 4314 indicating that the mass-to-light ratio is constant over much of the galaxy. We have developed an efficient procedure for mapping the gravitational potential of a non-axisymmetric galaxy based on its appearance in the

Extensive and Intensive Aspects of Astrophysical Systems and Fine-Tuning

open access: yesUniverse
Most astrophysical systems (except for very compact objects such as, e.g., black holes and neutron stars) in our Universe are characterized by shallow gravitational potentials, with dimensionless compactness |Φ|≡rs/R≪1, where rs and R are their ...

Shaping Matter with Acoustic Waves: From Particles to Functional Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Acoustic‐directed assembly is reviewed as a materials‐oriented strategy for organizing particles, polymers, metals, and biological systems into functional structures. The review distinguishes reversible manipulation from permanent structure formation through medium fixation, particle fixation, and in situ material generation, highlighting routes toward

Quantum corrections to gravitational potential of scalarized neutron star binary

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
We investigate the long-distance, low-energy, leading quantum corrections to gravitational potential for scalarized neutron star (NS) binary systems, by treating general relativity as an effective field theory.
