Inflationary cosmology in modified gravity theories
We review inflationary cosmology in modified gravity such as $R^2$ gravity with its extensions in order to generalize the Starobinsky inflation model. In particular, we explore inflation realized by three kinds of effects: modification of gravity, the ...

Could the Pioneer anomaly have a gravitational origin?
If the Pioneer anomaly has a gravitational origin, it would, according to the equivalence principle, distort the motions of the planets in the Solar System.

No conformal anomaly in unimodular gravity [PDF]
The conformal invariance of unimodular gravity survives quantum corrections, even in the presence of conformal matter. Unimodular gravity can actually be understood as a certain truncation of the full Einstein-Hilbert theory, where in the Einstein frame the metric tensor enjoys unit determinant.

Supporting or stifling? Experiences of beginning teachers working within the Early Career Framework
Abstract This study discusses the experiences of a group of new teachers in England since the introduction of the Early Career Framework (ECF), against the backdrop of the global teacher recruitment and retention crisis. The experiences of new teachers within the ECF are under‐researched.

Abstract This paper is a systematic literature review (SLR) of research published between 2009 and 2022 that aims to identify facilitators and barriers to implementing staff development projects (SDPs) in schools in England. Twelve research papers fulfilled all inclusion criteria and were each evaluated as being at least medium‐quality research.

Gravity and geoid anomalies of the Philippine Sea: Evidence on the depth of compensation for the negative residual water depth anomaly [PDF]
A negative free-air gravity anomaly which occurs in the central part of the Philippine Sea was examined to determine the distribution and nature of possible regional mass excesses or deficiencies. Geoid anomalies from GEOS-3 observation were positive.

Early evolutionary history of the seed
ABSTRACT The seed is an essential stage in the life history of gymnospermous and angiospermous plants, facilitating both their survival and dispersal. We reappraise knowledge of the evolutionary history of the gymnospermous seed, from its origin in the late Devonian through to the well‐known end‐Permian extinctions – an interval encompassing the ...
