Does Geocentric Sea‐Level Rise in the Maritime Continent Reveal a Tectonic Fingerprint?

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 10, 28 May 2026.
Abstract The islands of the Maritime Continent are highly vulnerable to sea‐level rise driven by barystatic, sterodynamic, and vertical land motion (VLM) processes. While tectonics is known to affect relative sea‐level through VLM, its influence on long‐term geocentric sea level (GSL) through crustal deformation and gravity field perturbations remains ...

Magnetic Signature of Oceanic Transform Faults and Their Fracture Zones

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, 16 May 2026.
Abstract Oceanic transform faults (TFs) offset mid‐ocean ridges, juxtaposing different‐aged crust and causing fracture zones (FZ) crossing ocean basins. Mounting evidence challenges the consensus that TFs are conservative plate boundaries, instead supporting the existence of extensional tectonics and two phases of magmatism.

Apollo 17 Lunar Surface Gravimeter as a Seismometer: Relocating Shallow‐Moonquake Sources and Implications for Source Mechanism

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 9, 16 May 2026.
Abstract Among the reported seismic events on the Moon, shallow moonquakes are known for their unique features, such as high‐frequency energy excitation, similarity to intraplate earthquakes, and the largest energy release of all reported moonquakes. Despite these interesting features, a small number of samples (<80 events) and sparse seismic network ...

The Moderating Role of Strategic Investment in R&D and Advertising in Firms' ESG–Performance Relationship

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, Volume 35, Issue 4, Page 5723-5748, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This paper examines the association between environmental, social, and governance (ESG) ratings and firm performance, taking into account the role of firms' strategic investments in research and development (R&D) and advertising. Drawing on resource‐based view and signalling theory perspectives and employing the generalised method of moments ...

Nationwide Environmental DNA Haplotyping Illuminates the Range Expansion of Three Invasive Black Bass Species in Japan

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 8, Issue 3, May–June 2026.
Environmental DNA‐based haplotyping simultaneously detects mitochondrial haplotypes of three invasive black bass species (Micropterus nigricans, M. salmoides, and M. dolomieu) across Japan, revealing their range expansion and dispersal processes at a broad scale. ABSTRACT Invasive species pose a significant threat to ecosystems worldwide.

Neuromuscular Control and Motor Performance Across the Menstrual Cycle in Physically Active Young Females

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Sport Science, Volume 26, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze potential menstrual cycle‐related changes in physical parameters associated with performance and injury risk, focusing on neuromuscular control and motor performance in physically active young females. Twenty‐two healthy participants with regular menstrual cycles (24–34 days) were examined sequentially during the ...

Seismic Fragility Analysis of Containment Structures in Nuclear Power Plants Considering Alkali‐Silica Reaction

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 1467-1487, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study quantifies the influence of alkali‐silica reaction (ASR) on the seismic fragility of prestressed concrete containment structures in nuclear power plants (NPPs). Global collapse was considered as the governing failure mode to maintain consistency with current risk assessment frameworks, and was captured using a finite element model ...
