Multifield mimetic gravity [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2022
In this paper, we extend the mimetic gravity to the multi-field setup with a curved field space manifold. The multi-field mimetic scenario is realized via the singular limit of the conformal transformation between the auxiliary and the physical metrics.

Characterization of Icy Moon Hydrospheres Through Joint Inversion of Gravity and Magnetic Field Measurements

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2023
Several bodies in the outer solar system are believed to host liquid water oceans underneath their icy surfaces. Knowledge of the hydrosphere properties is essential for understanding and assessing their habitability.

The relationship of the oil and gas fields of the Forecarpathian region with the regional faults system and deep structure

open access: yesГеофизический журнал, 2022
The oil and gas fields of Forecarpathian oil and gas region are compared with the structure of earth’s crust and regional faults. Most of the oil and gas condensate fields are localized in Borislav-Pokutia nappe over Precarpathian Fault zone.

GRACE—Gravity Data for Understanding the Deep Earth’s Interior

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
While the main causes of the temporal gravity variations observed by the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) space mission result from water mass redistributions occurring at the surface of the Earth in response to climatic and anthropogenic ...

Gravitational instability of exotic compact objects

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
Exotic compact objects with physical surfaces a Planckian distance away from where the horizon would have been are inspired by quantum gravity. Most of these objects are defined by a classical spacetime metric, such as boson stars, gravastars and ...

Gravity from topological field theory [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1999
We construct a topological field theory which, on the one hand, generalizes BF theories in that there is non-trivial coupling to `topological matter fields'; and, on the other, generalizes the three-dimensional model of Carlip and Gegenberg to arbitrary dimensional manifolds.

TGF: A New MATLAB-Based Software for Terrain-Related Gravity Field Calculations

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
With knowledge of geometry and density-distribution of topography, the residual terrain modelling (RTM) technique has been broadly applied in geodesy and geophysics for the determination of the high-frequency gravity field signals.

3D Convolution Conjugate Gradient Inversion of Potential Fields in Acoculco Geothermal Prospect, Mexico

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2022
Potential field data have long been used in geophysical exploration for archeological, mineral, and reservoir targets. For all these targets, the increased search of highly detailed three-dimensional subsurface volumes has also promoted the recollection ...

The Influence of Bathymetry on Regional Marine Geoid Modeling in Northern Europe

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
Although Northern Europe has been the target area in many regionwide geoid determination studies, the research has been land-focused, neglecting bathymetry information. With new projects, such as the Baltic Sea Chart Datum 2000, the attention is shifting
