Measurements of vertical gravity gradient
Bulletin géodésique, 1971By modem gravity meters it is possible to m_r~_~Jre gravity differences with an accuracy higher than + 0,01 mgal ; even 0.001 regal and better becomes feasible under special conditions. Thus, more reliable information about the vertical gravity gradient is attainable by portable and relatively simple instrumentation.

Vertical resolution: Gravity versus vertical gravity gradient
The Leading Edge, 2001Can gravity really detect a 200-m throw fault at a depth of 3000 m? Such a question may be frequently asked when we interpret gravity data. At present, with gravity gradiometry available and the exploration activity in areas such as the Gulf of Mexico, another parallel question is raised.
