A Gravity Model of Workers' Remittances

open access: yesIMF Working Papers, 2006
This paper creates the first dataset of bilateral remittance flows for a limited set of developing countries and estimates a gravity model for workers' remittances. We find that most of the variation in bilateral remittance flows can be explained by a few gravity variables.

A Novel Modified Petroresin Particle (MPRP) With Enhanced Oil–Water Selectivity for Cold Production in Heavy Oil Reservoirs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel oil–water selective conformance control agent, MPRP, is prepared via hydrophilic grafting and mechanical granulation. MPRP uniformly disperses in water, cohesively expands upon aging, and readily dissolves in the oil phase. During conformance control, it selectively aggregates in water channeling pathways to form effective plugs without ...

Robustness analysis in forward modelling gravity data in crustal/lithospheric studies

open access: yesContributions to Geophysics and Geodesy, 2011
The robustness of the gravimetric forward modelling is investigated by applying the harmonic inversion procedure at the input which is the difference of the calculated and measured surface gravity.

Increasing Inter‐Micellar Connectivity Toughens and Imparts Cooling‐Induced Shape Memory in Micellar Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oligomerizing Pluronic triblock copolymers provides a processing strategy for tuning the mechanical properties and stimuli‐responsive behaviors of micellar hydrogels. Varying oligomer fraction produces hydrogels spanning brittle to highly extensible responses; maintaining micellar architectures enables cooling‐induced reverse thermal shape memory and ...

One‐Step Curcumin‐Mediated Multiphoton Lithography for Bioactive 3D Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Curcumin‐mediated multiphoton lithography enables one‐step fabrication of highly architected complex gelatin methacryloyl scaffolds by exploiting curcumin as a multifunctional bioactive photoinitiator. The resulting 3D structures support mesenchymal stem cell adhesion, proliferation, and migration, while exhibiting dual antibacterial activity through ...

QUANTITATIVE GRAVIMETRIC INTERPRETATION OF THE PTUJSKO POLJE AREA

open access: yesRudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik, 1991
Gravimetric anomalies were converted into depth contours by using the depth and density data from bore holes. Gravity modelling was performed in two- and threedimensions.

Wearable Kirigami‐Apertured Capacitive Sensors for Continuous Cardiac Volumetric Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A wearable kirigami‐apertured carbon nanotube‐paper composite (K‐CPC) capacitive sensor enables cardiac volumetric monitoring. The kirigami process creates a central aperture with cantilevered fibers that confine the electric field, enhancing both sensitivity and lateral resolution.

Spectral analysis and gravity modelling in the Yagoua, Cameroon, sedimentary basin [PDF]

open access: yesGeofísica Internacional, 2006
A gravity survey is carried out in the far north of Cameroon, covering an area of about 15 000 km2 in the Yagoua sedimentary basin, located between longitudes 14°20’ to 15°50’E, and latitudes 9°45’ to 11°N.

A 3D Human Neuron‐on‐Chip Platform to Monitor Neuronal Injury Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel 3D Neuron‐on‐Chip model that can maintain human PSC‐derived excitatory prefrontal cortex neurons in 3D hydrogels and can be used to monitor neuronal injury responses over time. Results show injury‐induced acute neuronal excitotoxicity, declining neuronal connectivity, and the activation of a neurodegenerative, SASP‐like ...

Intelligent Orthopedics: Machine Learning in Diagnosis of Bone Disease, Implants, and Bone Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Efficient recovery from traumatic or degenerative diseases is a great challenge, even after all the advancements in bone and cartilage regeneration. Machine learning (ML) algorithms have presented opportunities to enhance these aspects by accurately analyzing imaging data.
