Wave polarizations for a beam-like gravitational wave in quadratic curvature gravity [PDF]
We compute analytically the tidal field and polarizations of an exact gravitational wave generated by a cylindrical beam of null matter of finite width and length in quadratic curvature gravity.

Hunting for gravity waves in non-orographic winter storms using 3+ years of regional surface air pressure network and radar observations [PDF]
Atmospheric gravity waves (i.e., buoyancy waves) can occur within stable layers when vertical oscillations are triggered by localized heating, flow over terrain, or imbalances in upper-level flow.

Three Dimensional Flexural–Gravity Waves [PDF]
Waves propagating on the surface of a three–dimensional ideal fluid of arbitrary depth bounded above by an elastic sheet that resists flexing are considered in the small amplitude modulational asymptotic limit. A Benney–Roskes–Davey–Stewartson model is derived, and we find that fully localized wavepacket solitary waves (or lumps) may bifurcate from the

Comparison of therapeutic and diagnostic applications of a surface‐emitting light source with multiwavelength emission characteristics. Abstract Conventional light‐emitting‐diode‐based light sources suffer from rigidity, localized heating, and poor adaptability to skin deformation, limiting their use in skin‐attached medical devices.

Simulation of underground gravity gradients from stochastic seismic fields
We present results obtained from a finite-element simulation of seismic displacement fields and of gravity gradients generated by those fields. The displacement field is constructed by a plane wave model with a 3D isotropic stochastic field and a 2D ...

Anomaly induced effective actions in even dimensions and reliability of s-wave approximation [PDF]
The reduction of 4d matter-gravity theory to $S_2$, $H_2$ or $R_2$ leads to effective 2d dilatonic gravity with dilaton coupled matter. Spinors give the exceptional example of the theory which is conformally invariant in 4d as well as in 2d, after ...

Gravity waves in three dimensions [PDF]
We find the explicit forms of the anti-de Sitter plane, anti-de Sitter spherical, and pp waves that solve both the linearized and exact field equations of the most general higher derivative gravity theory in three dimensions. As a sub-class, we work out the six derivative theory and the critical version of it where the masses of the two spin-2 ...

Evidence of a saturated gravity-wave spectrum throughout the atmosphere [PDF]
The view adapted here is that the dominant mesoscale motions are due to internal gravity waves and show that previous and new vertical wave number spectra of horizontal winds are consistent with the notion of a saturation limit on wave amplitudes.
