Gray isometries for finite $p$-groups [PDF]
We construct two classes of Gray maps, called type-I Gray map and type-II Gray map, for a finite $p$-group $G$. Type-I Gray maps are constructed based on the existence of a Gray map for a maximal subgroup $H$ of $G$.

A Gray Scale Correction Method for Side-Scan Sonar Images Based on Retinex
When side-scan sonars collect data, sonar energy attenuation, the residual of time varying gain, beam patterns, angular responses, and sonar altitude variations occur, which lead to an uneven gray level in side-scan sonar images.

The idea of (combinatorial) Gray codes is to list objects in question in such a way that two successive objects differ in some pre-specified small way. In this paper, we utilize beta-description trees to cyclicly Gray code three classes of cubic planar maps, namely, bicubic planar maps, 3-connected cubic planar maps, and cubic non-separable planar maps.

New extremal binary self-dual codes of length 68 from quadratic residue codes over f_2+uf_2+u^2f_2
In this work, quadratic reside codes over the ring F2 +uF2 +u^2F2 with u^3 = u are considered. A duality and distance preserving Gray map from F2 + uF2 + u^2F2 to (F_2)^3 is defined.

Two-Dimensional Compact Variational Mode Decomposition-Based Low-Light Image Enhancement
In this paper, a novel methodology is proposed for low-light image enhancement. The proposed algorithm contains three stages: image reconstruction, image enhancement and color restoration. Two-dimensional compact variational mode decomposition (2D-TV-VMD)

Crack Detection in Pavement Images Based on a Self- Adaptive Niche Algorithm
This study focuses on optical image pavement damage detection instead of artificial detection in pavement maintenance. Based on the characteristics of cracks and combined with the niche theory, it proposes a dynamic adaptive curve extraction algorithm ...

Gray codes and 1D quadratic maps
The authors show how the symbolic sequences of same period superstable orbits in 1D quadratic maps are ordered according to Gray codes. Next, the Gray ordering number is introduced, in the interval (0, 1), allowing the simultaneous ordering of symbolic sequences of different period superstable orbits.
