Transcriptomic insights into selenium‐mediated mitigation of low‐temperature stress in alfalfa

open access: yesChemical and Biological Technologies in Agriculture
Background Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is one of the most important forage crop in northern China, suffers from low-temperature (LT) stress, which significantly impairs its yield.

Seafloor Characterization from Spatial Variation of Multibeam Backscatter vs. Best Estimated Grazing Angle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Backscatter vs. grazing angle, which can be extracted from multibeam backscatter data, depends on characteristics of the multibeam system and the angular responses of backscatter that are characteristic of different seafloor properties, such as sediment ...

A global meta-analyses of the response of multi-taxa diversity to grazing intensity in grasslands

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2019
Livestock grazing is an important component and driver of biodiversity in grassland ecosystems. While numerous studies and a few meta-analyses had been conducted on the response of single taxon diversity to grazing in grasslands, a synthesis of how multi-

Kinetic Insights into Precursor‐Assisted Soft Sphere Close Packing Revealed by In Situ GISAXS with Implications for Gas Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The versatile precursor‐assisted soft sphere close packing during slot‐die coating is investigated with in situ X‐ray scattering. The soft crystallization pathways towards a close packing involve multistep structural transitions such as surface nucleation, in‐plane, and out‐of‐plane crystallization.

Continuous grazing in comparison to cutting management on an organic meadow in the eastern Alps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Continuous grazing is an appropriate pasture system for dairy cows in low input milk production systems like organic farming. Grazing increases for economic reasons and is also caused by regulations in organic farming.

Composition and Resulting Band Alignment at the TiO2/InP Heterointerface: A Fundamental Study Combining Photoemission Spectroscopy and Theory

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The chemical composition and band alignment are systematically investigated at the TiO2/InP heterointerface. Thin TiO2 films are deposited by ALD on atomically ordered, P‐terminated p‐InP(100). By combining UPS, XPS, and ab initio molecular dynamics, the atomistic structure and electronic alignment are revealed.

Fatty Acids Composition of Pasture Grass, Yak Milk and Yak Ghee from the Four Altitudes of Qinghai–Tibet Plateau: A Predictive Modelling Approach to Evaluate the Correlation among Altitude, Pasture Grass, Yak Milk and Yak Ghee

open access: yesAnimals
This study investigates the effect of altitude on the fatty acid composition of pasture grass, yak milk, and yak ghee on the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, aiming to understand how environmental factors influence the nutritional quality of these products ...

Holistic management – a critical review of Allan Savory’s grazing method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Allan Savory is the man behind holistic grazing and the founder of the Savory Institute. Savory claims that holistic grazing can stop desertification and reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide levels to pre-industrial levels in a few decades. In this report,

Evaluation of Promising Characteristics of Rhizomatous Alfalfa Male Sterile Mutant Accessions

open access: yesAgronomy
Evaluating key traits of male sterile mutant accessions in rhizomatous alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is crucial for selecting plants for artificial hybrid breeding of rhizomatous maternal lines. In this study, branch cuttings from four male sterile mutant
