Landscape heterogeneity influences on sheep habits under extensive grazing management in Southern Patagonia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In Southern Patagonia, continuous grazing with fixed stocking rates in large paddocks prevails over grazing systems subjected to regular evaluations and rotational rests.

The Role of Ultra‐Thin Buffer Layers for Achieving Ultra‐Low Dark Currents in Single‐Component Organic Photodetectors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, SubNc single‐component organic photodiodes (SC‐OPDs) are investigated, which achieve highly competitive performance metrics, including high EQE, ultra‐low JD, and high specific detectivity (D*). This study emphasizes the critical role of an organic buffer layer in studying the interface energetics and effects to achieve state‐of‐the‐art ...

Rangeland Conditions and Grazing Capacities on Livestock Farms During and After Drought in Three Biomes in South Africa

open access: yesLand
Climate change has intensified extreme weather events worldwide, such as droughts, which have severely affected South Africa’s rangelands by reducing productivity and increasing livestock mortality.

Omnivory by planktivores stabilizes plankton dynamics, but may either promote or reduce algal biomass [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Classical models of phytoplankton–zooplankton interaction show that with nutrient enrichment such systems may abruptly shift from limit cycles to stable phytoplankton domination due to zooplankton predation by planktivorous fish.

Sulphur fertiliser and sheep grazing capacity

open access: yesProceedings of the New Zealand Grassland Association, 1998
Sheep grazing capacities over 15 years from two long-running high country trials in a moderate rainfall zone and under 30 different annual sulphur and phosphorus fertiliser combinations are presented. With time, the sheep grazing capacities became increasingly related to the rate of S fertiliser input, and largely independent of P fertiliser rate.

Investigation of Halogen Substitution Effects in π‐Conjugated Organic Ligands of Chiral Hybrid Perovskites on Their Chiroptical Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The role of novel thiophene‐based ligands with halogen substitutions in enhancing the chiroptical and optoelectronic properties of 2D chiral HOIPs has been investigated. By tailoring ligand design, enhanced CD and CPL properties are achieved, with improved CPL discrimination in photodetectors.

Response of plant community structure and soil water conservation function to forbidden grazing and enclosure in alpine steppe of the Qinghai Lake

open access: yesXibei zhiwu xuebao
[Objective] This study aims to explore the impact of grazing enclosure on plant community structure and soil water conservation function in alpine steppe in the Qinghai Lake region, and to evaluate the effects of grazing enclosure on the restoration of

Critical Role of Polymer Gate Dielectrics on the Charge Carrier Transport in Perovskite Field‐Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Charge transport in 2D tin perovskite FETs is shown to be governed by dielectric interface behavior. Polar polymer dielectrics induce dipolar disorder that localizes carriers, whereas nonpolar polymers suppress trapping and enable superior charge transport, ensuring stable and reliable transistor operation. ABSTRACT Understanding the role of interfaces

The Combined Effect of Mediterranean Shrubland Pasture and the Dietary Administration of Sage By-Products on the Antioxidant Status of Segureña Ewes and Lambs

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2020
The objective of this study was to determine if the combined effect of ewe grazing and the incorporation of sage by-products in the lamb feed enhances the Segureña ewe and lamb antioxidant status.
