Effects of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on ruminating, grazing, and bedding time in bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis). [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Rumination is the repeated process of regurgitation of a food bolus, followed by chewing, swallowing, and regurgitation, which enhance nutrient assimilation.

Taste agents as modulators of the feeding behaviour of grazing yaks in alpine meadows

open access: yesAnimal, 2023
Feeding behaviour plays a significant role in promoting good animal health and welfare. It is also reflective of the quality and quantity of available feed.

Intrinsic Interfacial Energy Alignment Enables ETL‐Free Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular orientation of the small‐molecule donor BTR‐Cl induces a vacuum‐level shift that pins the Fermi level at ∼4.4 eV at the active layer/Ag interface, enabling Ohmic contact formation without an electron transport layer. This strategy is extended to ternary PM6:Y6:BTR‐Cl devices, achieving an ETL‐free efficiency of 18.6% with enhanced operational

Timing and Duration of Observation Periods of Foraging Behavior in Natural Grasslands

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science, 2020
The goals of this study were to evaluate the length of time grazing which should be monitored over a 24-h period to predict the grazing behavior of beef heifers within a season and determine the patterns of foraging activity over 24 h.

Spiro‐Phenothiazine Hole‐Transporting Materials: Unlocking Stability and Scalability in Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Fluorene‐functionalized spiro‐phenothiazine (PTZ‐Fl) exhibits strong Li+ affinity and thermal stability, enabling a PCE of 25.75% in small‐area cells and 22.07% in 25 cm2 modules. Under ISOS‐L3 conditions, PTZ‐Flbased devices retain over 80% efficiency after 1000 hours, demonstrating superior stability and scalability compared to spiro‐OMeTAD for next ...

Role of Liquid Composition in the Transient Liquid Assisted Growth of Superconducting YBa2Cu3O7‐δ Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The Y supersaturation in the [Ba‐Cu(I/II)‐O] transient liquid composition is the driving force toward YBCO nucleation and growth in TLAG. Tuning the initial (Ba:Cu) molar ratio in the ink composition determines the YBCO epitaxial nucleation through supersaturation control.

Microscopic Insights into Magnetic Warping and Time‐Reversal Symmetry Breaking in Topological Surface States of Rare‐Earth‐Doped Bi2Te3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Magnetic doping of the topological insulator Bi2Te3 with erbium adatoms induces out‐of‐plane magnetism and breaks time‐reversal symmetry, opening a Dirac gap and driving a Fermi surface transition from hexagonal to star‐of‐David geometry. Microscopy, spectroscopy, and magnetic dichroism reveal atomically controlled magnetic interactions that tailor the

Activity time budget patterns of sheep and goats co-grazing on semi-natural species-rich dry grassland

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2013
Activity time budget patterns and grazing response to sward and environmental conditions were investigated for paddocks of sheep and goats co-grazing for conservation purposes on a semi-natural species-rich dry grassland community endangered by shrub and

Lattice‐Matched 2D Template Enables Efficient Cesium Tin Halide Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Lattice‐matched 2D perovskite PEA2CsSn2I7 templates the out‐of‐plane growth of inorganic 3D γ‐CsSnI3 along the (110) plane, forming highly oriented 2D/3D tin halide perovskite heterostructures. With reduced trap states and mitigated δ‐phase impurities, the CsSnI3‐based solar cells achieve a power conversion efficiency of 15.27% and maintain stable ...
