Ecol EvolWe use for the first time whole‐genome sequencing to explore current and historical patterns of genetic diversity in European hake in the Northeastern Atlantic, focusing on the recently expanded distribution range in the North Sea. Genomic data revealed a complex scenario with three populations: North Sea, Celtic Sea and Portugal.
