Lattice Green's function for crystals containing a planar interface
Flexible boundary condition methods couple an isolated defect to a harmonically responding medium through the bulk lattice Green's function; in the case of an interface, interfacial lattice Green's functions.

Linear ODE with nonlocal boundary conditions and Green’s functions for such problems
In this article we investigate a formula for the Green’s function for the n-order linear differential equation with n additional conditions. We use this formula for calculating the Green’s function for problems with nonlocal boundary conditions.

Capacities, Green function, and Bergman functions
AbstractUsing the logarithmic capacity, we give quantitative estimates of the Green function, as well as precise lower bounds of the Bergman kernel for bounded pseudoconvex domains in and the Bergman distance for bounded planar domains. In particular, it is shown that the Bergman kernel satisfies the sharp estimate if is a bounded pseudoconvex ...

Atovaquone is an antimalarial requiring potentiation for sufficient efficacy. We pursued strategies to enhance its activity, showing that 4‐nitrobenzoate inhibits 4‐hydroxybenzoate polyprenyltransferase, decreasing ubiquinone biosynthesis. Since atovaquone competes with ubiquinol in mitochondria, 4‐nitrobenzoate facilitates its action, potentiating ...

ON GREEN’S FUNCTION OF DARBOUX PROBLEM FOR HYPERBOLIC EQUATION
It is well known that the Darboux problem for the hyperbolic equation is correct, both in the senseof classical and generalized solutions. An integral form of the solution of the Darboux problem ina characteristic triangle for a general two-dimensional ...

CCT4 promotes tunneling nanotube formation
Tunneling nanotubes (TNTs) are membranous tunnel‐like structures that transport molecules and organelles between cells. They vary in thickness, and thick nanotubes often contain microtubules in addition to actin fibers. We found that cells expressing monomeric CCT4 generate many thick TNTs with tubulin.

Phototrophs evolved light‐harvesting systems adapted for efficient photon capture in habitats enriched in far‐red radiation. A subset of eukaryotic pigment‐binding proteins can absorb far‐red photons via low‐energy chlorophyll states known as red forms.

Mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation is stimulated by red light irradiation
Light at different wavelengths has distinct effects on keratinocyte viability and metabolism. UVA light abrogates metabolic fluxes. Blue and green light have no effect on metabolic fluxes, while red light enhanced oxidative phosphorylation by promoting fatty acid oxidation. Keratinocytes are the primary constituents of sunlight‐exposed epidermis.

In [BEI] we introduced a Levy process on a hierarchical lattice which is four dimensional, in the sense that the Green's function for the process equals 1/x^2.
