Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1977Summary Deoxyribotide biosynthesis in plant cells includes thioredoxin for hydrogen transfer. A heat-stable protein of mol.weight 12,600 has been purified from the algae, Scenedesmus obliquus which in its reduced form stimulates CDP reduction by Scenedesmus as well as by Escherichia coli ribonucleotide reductase.

Sterol compositions in some green algae and brown algae
Steroids, 1968Abstract Compositions of the sterol in Chlorophyta and Phaeophyta were established quantitatively. Sterol content in Chlorophyta is more similar to higher plant, and it contains large amount of cholesterol. In Phaeophyta, fucosterol is the main sterol and small amounts of cholesterol, 24-methylene-cholesterol and saringosterol were identified.
